About the cabin
Hleiðra is a scout cabin of Skjöldungar located at Hafravatn. The cabin is ideal for scout troops, with sleeping space for up to 10–12 people in beds, and an additional sleeping loft with mattresses. There is a small kitchen area and a dining table with several chairs.
There is no electricity in the cabin, but it is heated with gas heaters. The cabin has a water toilet during summer; in winter the water is turned off.
The area around the cabin includes a grove with a fire pit and trees suitable for hammocks. There is also a grassy area outside the cabin that is well suited for tents.
The surroundings are very scenic with short walking trails. The cabin is a short walk from Hafravatn, where you can wade, swim, or go boating. Note that Skjöldungar do not own boats, but in summer it is sometimes possible to contact Mosverjar to rent boats.
Pricing
Weekend rental: 30,000 ISK.
Weekend rental for scouts or other youth activities: 25,000 ISK.
Day rental: 15,000 ISK.
Terms of use
Renters are expected to leave the cabin and its surroundings in the same condition as on arrival. If cleaning or tidying is required after the event, the cost will be charged to the renter.
